Location: Ashland, OR | Department: Artistic/Producing | Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000

OSF is seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Contracts Manager to lead the contracting process across our artistic programs. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong negotiation skills with a deep understanding of theatre operations and collective bargaining agreements.

The Role You’ll Play

As Contracts Manager, you’ll design and manage efficient contracting systems for OSF’s artistic and educational programs. From drafting and executing creative team contracts to negotiating union agreements, you’ll ensure smooth operations and compliance across the Festival’s dynamic programming. You’ll work closely with Producing, Artistic, Marketing, Sales, and Finance teams to maintain accuracy, timeliness, and clarity in all agreements.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage Artistic Contracts : Draft, negotiate, and execute contracts for performers, creative teams, licensing, commissions, co-productions, and youth performers.
  • Lead Union Negotiations : Serve as OSF’s primary liaison with AEA and SDC, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements; support IATSE negotiations as needed.
  • Streamline Systems : Develop cross-departmental systems for tracking contracts, payments, deadlines, deliverables, and renewals.
  • Ensure Accuracy & Compliance : Oversee royalty agreements, maintain up-to-date contract templates, and ensure adherence to legal and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate Across Teams : Partner with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Business Operations to project royalties, process payments, and integrate labor terms into daily practices.
  • Support Special Projects : Assist with contracting needs for Production, Education, and Engagement initiatives.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…

  • Bring at least 3+ years’ experience in producing, general management, or contracting in a professional artistic setting.
  • Have a BA or higher in Theatre, Film, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Are experienced in union negotiations (AEA, SDC, IATSE) and comfortable leading collaborative dialogue with union representatives.
  • Excel at organization, deadline management, and attention to detail.
  • Have strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, DocuSign, Asana, and AirTable .
  • Communicate with clarity and professionalism, and are adept at drafting and reviewing contractual language.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving organizational needs.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) was founded in 1935 in Ashland, OR, and has grown from a three-day festival of two plays to a nationally renowned theatre arts organization that presents a rotating repertory season of up to 10 plays and musicals, including illuminating interpretations of Shakespeare, other enduring classics, and new works. OSF productions have been presented on Broadway, internationally, and at regional, community, and high school theatres across the country. OSF received the 1983 Special Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre and is one of the largest nonprofit theatres in the nation with three stages, including an outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre.
