Position Summary

The Regional Estimator is responsible for accurately creating printing estimates based on customer or sales team specifications, using company standards and pricing structures. This role requires strong analytical skills, vendor sourcing capabilities, and a deep understanding of printing processes to engineer the most cost-effective production plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze project documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Source and evaluate multiple vendors when necessary.
  • Engineer optimal production plans for each project.
  • Provide quotes based on the most economical and efficient production methods.
  • Plan jobs using various substrates and printing techniques.
  • Revise estimates as specifications change.
  • Perform job cost analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of materials and production capabilities.
  • Prepare estimates for management use in planning and scheduling.
  • Identify appropriate suppliers and internal resources for each quote.
  • Collaborate with sales, vendors, and internal departments to resolve estimate-related issues.
  • Maintain and improve estimating procedures and standards.
  • Ensure quality standards are met before delivering quotes.
  • Advise team members on project specifications and production options.
  • Promote additional services or products to existing customers.
  • Communicate pricing, timelines, and project details to customers.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
  • Generate and maintain required reports.
  • Work flexible hours as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in reprographics is .
  • Strong customer service and follow-through skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Excel, Word, and other relevant software.
  • Solid understanding of small format, large format, and production processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
