Job Title: Health and Safety Coordinator

Location: Kansas City, MO

Employment Type: Full-Time/Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM

Compensation: $75,000–$80,000/year

Travel: Up to 5%

About the Role:

A growing organization in the construction and manufacturing sector is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment. This role will oversee facility and field safety efforts, conduct audits, manage Workers’ Compensation, and lead employee training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor workplace safety and ensure OSHA compliance
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Conduct routine safety audits at facilities and job sites
• Manage Workers’ Compensation documentation and follow-ups
• Develop and enforce company safety policies and procedures
• Oversee PPE distribution and inspections
• Lead employee safety training and maintain required documentation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or a related field (preferred)
• 2–5 years of experience in a safety-focused role (preferred)
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work across office, shop, and field environments
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
• Must be able to wear standard PPE such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, etc.
