Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant - Manufacturing

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing cost management and analysis, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing insights to improve profitability and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports to monitor manufacturing costs and profitability.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide actionable insights to management.
• Manage inventory valuation and ensure accurate inventory records are maintained.
• Collaborate with the production team to analyze job costs and support budgeting processes.
• Prepare journal entries related to cost accounting and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
• Assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets and forecasts for manufacturing operations.
• Utilize ERP systems, specifically Epicore, to track and report on costing and financial performance.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding cost accounting practices.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls related to financial reporting and cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicore.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
